This yard was entirely covered in a weedy lawn less
than 2 months prior to this photo being taken.

Now, it's a very productive vegetable garden,
pumping out healthy, tasty salad greens, zucchini,
green beans and more. Garlic, carrots, beets and
onions will be coming up in the spring of 2009.

The progression to becoming a vegetable garden: this is how things looked upon my arrival.

A thin layer of plastic sheeting was employed to
'solarize' the grass.

Grass (and weeds, roots and rocks!) removed and
the garden is ready to plant with vegetable seeds.
